    A third way for the talc vs IPC pro-con debate?

    IPC-Plus reports pleurodesis achieved at day 30 in 43% of IPC plus talc group versus 23% in placebo group. No excess risk of drain blockage.

    TIPC plus – yes maybe we should consider this combined treatment more often;

    I am curious to know from those of you who run TIPC services – how often did you have to re-insert a TIPC for recurrent pleural effusion AFTER a previous TIPC was removed due to blockage/infection/other?

    we audited our service recently and found this scenario was v. rare; somewhat more often we ‘tolerated’ a degree of partial pleurodesis in NEL.
